Valsgarde 6 w/ Brass Runes

My take on the historic Valsgarde 6 helmet constructed for SCA combat. Handcrafted, this helmet is exceptionally clean, smooth and solid. This beautiful helm is of 3/16" all rivet construction and is comprised of multiple gauges of hot rolled mild steel for the main construction which include the large Ys and occular which are 10g, the main banding, crossweaves, and the backslates & reinforcing bars are 12g, the small Ys and cheekplates are 14g. The frame of the grill was coal forged from cold rolled steel 1/4" square stock, bars welded in are 5/16" square stock. To be compatibale with SCA regulations there are no openings larger than 1" anywhere and the eyes are set at 7/8". The runic plaques are made of brass and were sandcast custom for this specific helm. The eyebrows and nasal are also lovely sandcast brass. Heirloom quality!!
